Fund increased support for SEN children in mainstream schools

Closed 388 signatures

What the petition asks

I want something done about the level of funding for SEND children in mainstream schools. A lot of children are not getting the support they need due to lack of funding. Too many SEN children are just getting by, which is not good enough. They deserve a full education like everyone else
SEN children need extra support, such as additional and specialist staff. Too many mainstream schools do not have the staff needed to support SEN children. Increased funding could address this.

One school in my area only has 1 SENCo to 130 children and following the pandemic SEN needs have risen dramatically, and I don't believe this is sufficient to support every child to their full potential. More money needs to be given to mainstream schools for SEN children to ensure adequate support is provided
