What the petition asks
The NHS was set up to provide medical treatment for all, unfortunately, due to funding, many operations and treatments are limited. Gender Reassignment Surgery is cosmetic surgery & should not take up funding that is there to treat people that are sick & taking up valuable operation availability
The NHS was set up to provide medical treatment for all, unfortunately, due to funding, many operations and treatments are limited. We believe that Gender Reassignment Surgery is cosmetic surgery & should not take up funding that is there to treat people that are sick & taking up valuable operation time & availability. The NHS provide many alternative treatments other than surgery, we understand that, but finances are tight and delayed surgery for cancer sufferers is unacceptable.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
