Anyone who knocks a cat over has to by law stop and not drive off

Rejected 19 signatures

What the petition asks

I think it should become a law that if a driver knocks a cat over they should stop.

A cat has more chance of surviving when been knocked over if the vehicle stopped
Too many cats lose their lives and as an animal lover who had a cat for 16 years and sadly was found this morning by a lorry it broke our family apart while the driver drove off.
Surely there should be some respect for cats like there is dogs

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Grant cats the same status under the Road Traffic Act 1988 as dogs
