What the petition asks
We want the Government to review the safety of Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy surgery and the wellbeing of patients who have previously undergone this surgery.
I and many like me were advised to have this surgery, but the adverse effects of this surgery can be truly life altering.
The procedure involves surgery on the sympathetic nerve chain and can cause an avalanche of knock-on problems to the heart, lungs, blood vessels, and severe compensatory sweating.
Some people who have undergone this procedure have become shadows of their former selves. I was not properly informed about the risks of this surgery, and would never have agreed to it, had I been.
