Ban transgender girls/ women from competing against biological girls and women

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Make it totally illegal for boys who identify as girls to compete against biological girls and women in all sports of all ages

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Section 195 of the Equality Act 2010 already allows sports competition organisers to "exclude participation of a transsexual person as a competitor in a gender-affected activity if it is necessary to do so to secure in relation [...] fair competition, or the safety of competitors": https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/section/195

Deciding who should be eligible to take part in individual sporting events are a matter for the organisers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
