Allow biometric residence permit (BRP) holders to use eGates at passport control

What the petition asks
Although BRPs have chips that can be read by an automatic system, holders cannot enter the UK using eGates. Instead, they must be checked manually at passport control, which can take hours at busy airports. We want the Government to allow BRP holders to use eGates at passport control.
Biometric residence permits (BRPs) issued to non-citizen UK residents contain biometric information such as photo and fingerprints, as well as the immigration status.
Allowing people who reside in the UK to use eGates could help relieve the pressure at passport control and reduce waiting times.
