Stop the removal of items from peoples graves without permission from families

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Stop the council from removing items and keepsakes from peoples graves without permission from families and friends
Its disgusting that all the memories from over the years are being removed without permission and just chucked in carrier bags like it means absolutely nothing. These are family memories and keepsakes for their deceased relatives so they should be allowed to grieve and make their resting places beautiful

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about which items are allowed to be displayed on or near a gravestone or in a cemetery is a matter for the authority responsible for the cemetery, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here:
