TUPE to be considered and or applied for jobs affected by AI

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

The threat of AI on employment is a major issue and will be damaging to the UK economy as well as have impact on our local communities and the people within them,
AI, has little in the way of regulation today and TUPE could be updated swiftly to include the impact on Human Workers by Digital Workers (Non Human).

As everything and anything which is process based being able to be Automated, it has serious repercussions at multiple levels including income tax and National insurance.

The UK,has an opportunity to take the lead in showing the world how we can ensure that people in employment can be protected and consulted at an early stage in the process of AI being considered, or implemented to augment or replace human workers.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

TUPE relates to the transfer of staff from one employer to another. It is not clear how TUPE regulations, or similar, could be applied to employers using AI.
