What the petition asks
Government funds belong to tax payers. They must not be used to pay legal fees for politicians who are called to justice in the courts.
Tax payers should not be expected to pay legal fees of politicians who are called to justice. Instead political parties and / or individuals must pay for their defence costs and other fees. There is no other walk of life in which this practice would be permitted and it must be stopped.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
