What the petition asks
Mandatory biopsy during breast ultrasounds scans especially if a woman or man states they feel a lump on their breast. Biopsies are crucial to definitively diagnosing cancer. This can prevent invasive surgeries mastectomy), physical, mental trauma and the spread of cancer. It gives more options.
Tony Blair executed the change of rule for all breast lump cases to be seen under the 2 weeks rule pathway however we need an increased screening of breast via biopsy to save women & men breasts. Let’s remember the Covid slogan Catch it, Bin it, Kill it ! We couldn’t see Covid but we felt the symptoms didn’t we? That is the same with Breast Cancer you can’t see it but symptoms show up so let’s Catch it, Kill it and Scoop it out by having upfront biopsies whilst having an ultrasound!
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about patient care, including how to investigate symptoms of breast cancer, are a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament.
