Provide free court sentencing remarks for victims of child sexual abuse

What the petition asks
Victims of child sexual assault should not need to pay a private company to have a judge's sentencing remarks transcribed. These remarks should be provided free of charge to victims in cases of child sexual offences.
Many victims consider reading/hearing what the judge says at sentencing as part of the healing process and this can help to bring closure to their ordeal, but for many the costs can be beyond their means.
Victims should be offered a copy of the transcript free of charge. The cost of the transcript could be included in defendant's court costs if need be.
