Change the continuing healthcare guidance to make it fair for Dementia patients

What the petition asks
Currently, the guidance does not allow for the cognitive domain in the Continuing Healthcare Assessment (CHC) to have a priority rating. This means that dementia patients aren’t receiving the healthcare they need. All of the domains in the CHC assessment should be allowed to have a Priority score.
The CHC Framework claims that it will not discriminate against anyone because of their type of illness but it then explicitly discriminates against Dementia patients by not allowing a priority rating in the cognitive domain. All categories should be allowed to have any of the ratings. The Department of Health and Social Care are the authors of the National framework for NHS continuing healthcare and NHS-funded nursing care, so it is not valid for the Government to claim that they are not responsible for this.
