Make Paid Pet Bereavement Leave Compulsory in the Workplace
Closed
43 signatures
What the petition asks
When losing a pet there should be up to 5 days paid compassionate leave in the workplace. This should only be provided if there is proof from a vet of the loss of a pet and the cause of death. For some people their pets are all they have in life.
Many people see animals as just as important as humans, therefore their loss should be acknowledged and people given time to grieve.
Please Note, pet bereavement leave should only be agreed if there is proof from a vet of the loss of a pet and the cause of death. In no circumstances should this law allow people who cause harm against an animals to receive bereavement leave.
