Pay increase for the private sectors of social care

What the petition asks
Petition for private social care organisations to provide staff with a pay increase. 83% of the UK’s social care services are with the private sector with most being paid at minimum wage or barely above minimum wage.
Many social care workers only earn the National Minimum Wage or just above despite the skills and training they have to obtain and given the responsibilities and risks of abuse that come alongside social care & mental health services.
Social care is so much more than just a job to many people that work in social care and it would be nice to feel appreciated with reflective pay.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Salaries for social workers are set by their employers, including local authorities, and not by the UK Government or Parliament.
