Take back control of interest rates from the Bank of England

What the petition asks
We want the Government to take control for interest rates away from the BoE who are unelected yet have huge power over people's lives.
Recent interest rate rises have been catastrophic for many mortgage payers, and we believe action is needed.
We believe the Government should be responsible for setting interest rates. Then if the public aren't happy with a Government's approach to interest rates they can vote them out.
We don't believe the Bank of England should have so much power, when we are a democratic nation.
