Create an absolute right for a clean break in divorce

What the petition asks
The Government should create an absolute right for a ‘clean break’. People can be held financially hostage by an ex spouse due to mortgages etc. There should be a requirement to sell all assets so that a clean break order can happen.
There should be no waiting until the kids are 18. Being able to hold an ex partner financial hostage is ethically and morally wrong. Neither person should be able to have control like that. New partner assets and future financial decisions should not be included in the financials of a divorce as they are not marital assets.
