Increase pay for junior doctors by 35%

Closed 153 signatures

What the petition asks

The BMA’s calculations show that pay awards for junior doctors in England from 2008/9 to 2021/22 have delivered a real terms (RPI) pay cut of 26.1%, even accounting for investment through the 2019 multi-year pay deal. We want the Government to increase their pay by 35% to make up for this cut.
Junior doctors have threatened to walk out 'indefinitely' if the Government fails to restore real terms pay for junior doctors to 2008 levels.

The BMA has told ministers they must boost pay by at least 35% if they want to bring the industrial action to an end.
