Extend the driving theory test expiry time from two to three years

What the petition asks
I would like the Government to extend the expiry dates for driving theory tests from the current two years to three, until the backlog is resolved.
Currently it can take 6-8 months to get a driving test. Learners are experiencing huge wait times and in some cases additional costs to secure practical tests before their passed theory tests expire. Around 50% don't pass the practical test first time, making it difficult for many to book and pass a practical driving test before their theory test expiration date. This has led to some learners paying more during a cost of living crisis.
