What the petition asks
A majority of Caribbean islands do not need a visa to visit the UK. Why are Jamaicans not provided the same privilege?
Requirements for Jamaicans to pay a fee and apply for a visa, when they were the largest group to migrate to Britain as part of the Windrush generation, are an example of a continued failure and disregard of Jamaicans.
For fairness, opportunities, family vacation/learning visits, Jamaicans in Jamaica should have the same opportunity to visit Britain and see the sites, and visit family, just as British nationals do not require visas to visit Jamaica. A majority of the Caribbean islands do not require a visa to visit Britain – it's time Jamaica joined them.
