What the petition asks

Please could the government cap or abolish the standing charges on electric on gas to help with cost of living.

The Standing charge on electric and gas is essentially a cost for connection of gas and electric and while the wholesale market has gone down standing charges are going up.
Please could the government work with energy sector to either set one rate for electric and one for gas and freeze that rate for 1 year to help with the cost of living or abolish the standing charge all together.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
