Pay parents/carers lost earnings if suitable school provision not provided
Closed
709 signatures
What the petition asks
It is a legal responsibility for local authorities to provide a suitable education for a child. If a suitable school provision cannot be provided and parents/carers need to take unpaid leave or leave their jobs to look after their child, loss of earnings should be paid whilst the child is home.
Families should not be plunged into crisis and hardship because the local authority cannot provide suitable school provision.
