End suspended/non-custodial sentences for theft

What the petition asks
We want the Government to amend the law to require a custodial sentence be served by people found guilty of theft. We believe the current approach, when many convicts are given suspended sentences, is too lenient, undermines justice and perpetuates a cycle of crime that harms our communities.
We believe it is crucial that we reform our criminal justice system by eliminating suspended sentences specifically tailored towards thieves' crimes.
We demand that lawmakers prioritise the safety and well-being of our communities by abolishing suspended sentences for thieves. Create a justice system that holds offenders accountable, protects victims, and deters future criminal behaviour.
