What the petition asks
We urgently request the inclusion of plastic golf tees in the UK Government’s ban on single-use plastics, which currently covers plates, bowls, trays, containers, cutlery, and balloon sticks, and is scheduled to come into force from 1st October 2023.
We believe the detrimental impact of plastic golf tees on our environment cannot be underestimated. They end up in water bodies, soil, and natural habitats, causing harm to marine life and wildlife. Plastic golf tees pose a risk to various species that may ingest or get entangled in them, leading to severe health issues and often death.
The UK Government can demonstrate its commitment to sustainable environmental practices and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives within golf.
