Require autism training for every public sector worker

What the petition asks
We would like the government to fund specialised training on autism for all public sector workers in the country. It is essential for all public sector workers to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to support individuals on the autism spectrum.
Statistics reveal that only 29 out of 42 police forces in the United Kingdom provide autism training, and only around 40% of police officers have received specific training on autism, along with only 14% of secondary teachers. There is a pressing need for comprehensive autism training across the public sector. Training helps public sector workers develop a deeper understanding of autism spectrum disorders. Whilst also ensuring equitable access to services, and reducing discrimination.
