What the petition asks

Amend Recall of MPs Act 2015 to include provision for a recall petition if an MP fails to attend Parliament in a 6 month period and include provision for a recall petition if an MP fails to fully resign, when they have indicated their intention by Public Statement.
Recover MP wage costs for period.

There is currently no provision for Constituents to recall their MP's if they do not attend Parliament or fully resign when they have expressed an intention to do so by Public Statement and/or Official letter.
A recall petition appears the obvious vehicle to use for such circumstances, reflecting that sufficient numbers of the electorate are discontent with their MP's actions.
A successful petition should provide a vehicle to recover MP wage costs for the period of non-attendance.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
