Include people with Long COVID in the Covid-19 vaccine booster programme

What the petition asks
The Government has launched an autumn 2023 Covid-19 booster programme for people over 65 and at clinical risk.
This does not expressly list people with post-Covid syndrome (Long COVID). Based on evidence of immune system damage and symptom exacerbation by repeat infections, we think they need to be eligible.
A comprehensive review of Long COVID (post-acute SARS Cov-2 syndrome) research, "Long COVID: major findings, mechanisms and recommendations", published January 2023 finds: "beyond the acute phase, reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 contributes substantial additional risks of all-cause mortality, hospitalization and postacute sequelae in the pulmonary and broad array of extra pulmonary organ systems". A 2022 study by UK patient charities found that 80% of Long COVID patients deteriorate on reinfection.
