DVLA communications to include a reminder to check updates to the Highway Code

What the petition asks
Require the DVLA to remind road users that they should re-read the Highway Code regularly and ensure that they are aware of updates. An additional line to be added in all communications, e.g. 'car tax' demands, with a weblink to the most recent Highway Code and any updates.
A large proportion of road users seem unaware of (or largely ignore) changes to the Highway Code. There are many reports of incidents from vulnerable road users including walkers, cyclists, horse riders/drivers and motorbike riders e.g. 68 horses were killed on roads in 2022 (British Horse Society data). Campaigns such 'Pass Wide And Slow' and 'Dead Slow' raise awareness but most often amongst affected groups rather than the majority of drivers.
A reminder may encourage drivers to check changes.
