Petition · past parliament
Offer ivermectin as a first line treatment for Scabies.
Rejected

What the petition asks
Currently permethrin is offered as a first-line treatment for scabies in the UK. It is a topical treatment that can be hard to apply effectively. Ivermectin is an oral treatment which is easy to administer and take, with high efficacy rates. This needs to be offered on the NHS.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about patient care, including medication offered to patients, are a matter for the NHS, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, and individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament.
