Fund abdominal aortic aneurysm screening for women

Closed 368 signatures

What the petition asks

Only men aged 65 are offered screening to detect abdominal aortic aneurysms, as women are considered a lower risk. Whatever the risk, all should have access to these potentially life-saving scans.
My family has recently suffered a sudden and out of nowhere death. My Aunt died from a massive heart attack, caused by an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Another family must never go through what we have and are still going through.

All life is precious, whatever the level of risk. Scans to detect abdominal aortic aneurysms must be available to everyone, whether male or female. Everybody has the right to be treated equally and fairly with regards to abdominal aortic aneurysm scanning/screening.
