What the petition asks
Create a National day that celebrates Elizabeth the Great that shines Britains greatest monarch
Make it happen. God knows we should do it.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand that you'd like to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II, but we're not exactly sure what you'd like a "National Day" to look like and therefore what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take. The Government is also not responsible for introducing names such as "the Great". That would be a decision for the current Monarch.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, we could accept a petition calling on the Government to introduce a bank holiday in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II or to provide funding for certain activities and events, if that's something that you'd like to see.
