Introduce a Universal Basic Income

What the petition asks
We want the Government to introduce a Universal Basic Income set at a high enough level to secure everyone's right to a basic standard of living, and end the need for means-tested benefits.
We believe this would:
- Help improve people's mental health
- Recognise unpaid care and voluntary work
- Enable people to pursue work in the arts
- Provide everyone with financial independence
- Remove disincentives not to take up work
- End sanctions for benefits
- Be simpler than the current benefits system
- Provide workers with a safety net
