What the petition asks
Maths should teach things like managing a household budget, basic profit and loss, interest rates, spreadsheets; the types of things used in everyday life and work life.
Content on technical maths, such as quadratic equations, geometry, trigonometry and Pythagorus shouldn’t be in the curriculum but could be taught as part of an optional GCSE.
We have two GCSEs for English: English language and English literature, there should be two for maths as well.
