Create independent body to investigate complaints against NHS staff and bodies

What the petition asks
We believe that hospitals & hospital staff have for far too long hid behind a curtain of protection of the NHS when they have made mistakes /not acted in accordance with their code of conduct / care. That needs to end. They need to take full responsibility for their actions & be liable.
We believe that the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) / the current complaints system does not work. For example, we believe it doesn’t facilitate a swift second opinion when warranted. A totally independent body must govern this and investigate complaints against all NHS staff and bodies and act as the “failures occur” to minimise harm / pain / suffering and sometimes loss of life. I’m driven to campaign for this change due to my own personal tragic loss.
