Require employers to pay employees for rest breaks
Closed
89 signatures
What the petition asks
A rest break is already compulsory after 6 hours of work. However, care for workers should go further and make payment for breaks compulsory for employers. If an employer wants a worker to continue working after their compulsory break, such a break should be paid by law.
The need for rest is a result of hard work and should be compensated. We think it is unfair to expect a worker to continue their duty (rest being a part of that duty after 6 hours) without being paid for their rest breaks.
