Review protections for public from unsafe electrical infrastructure

What the petition asks
The Government should review regulations and the role of the HSE to ensure the public is protected from electrical infrastructure danger in a non-workplace context. I believe there is disregard to public safety because regulatory regimes and advice focus on complaints raised in a workplace context.
The current regulatory regimes under Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR), and Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002, and advice on reporting, focus on work-placed incidents. My husband was killed in May 2017 from arcing from a 11kV uninsulated cable running between his garden and a public footpath. A claim was settled last year and lessons need to be learnt in protecting public safety.
