Disregard compensation payments for means-tested benefits

What the petition asks
Myself and my partner recently lost our beautiful daughter Violet at 8 weeks of age. We are fighting every day, and will not stop fighting in Violet's memory, until something changes.
We have been awarded a sum in compensation, and due to the laws surrounding the payment not being a “personal injury”, we will lose access to our means-tested benefits. We will then have to use the compensation payment for rent, bills etc, instead of putting it away for our children’s future.
