Build the HS2 rail project and the Northern Powerhouse Rail in full

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The current Conservative Government should unequivocally commit to completing the High Speed Rail 2 (HS2) project in full from London Euston to Manchester.
The government should also commit to building the Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR) going from Liverpool to Leeds.
The government dithering on whether to continue with HS2 is threatening the opportunity to level-up this country.

HS2 is an investment for the future of this country and the government should treat it as such. The whole purpose of HS2 and NPR is to free up capacity on our already overcrowded and over-capacity Victoria-era train network.
The UK is falling behind other developed countries with respect to our high speed infrastructure which is negatively affecting our long-term prosperity.

Why it was rejected
