Require police to have active body cameras when they are on duty

What the petition asks
We want the Government to require police officers to have active body cameras whenever they are on duty. Currently these can be turned on and off at the officer's discretion.
The police need to regain the publics trust following widespread concerns about racism, sexism, ableism and "boys club" attitudes in many constabularies. There are frequent reports of police acting inappropriately, but often these incidents occur when body cameras are turned off.
Requiring police to have active body cameras when they are on duty should help make the police more accountable for their actions and restore public trust in the police.
