Fund increased bursary for student nurses

Closed 497 signatures

What the petition asks

We would like the Government to provide funding for increased bursaries for student nurses. We believe current bursaries are insufficient, especially during the current cost of living crisis.
Student nurses are vital to the Health and Social Care Sector, helping nurses and care assistants on the daily whether we're on placement or working part time.

Student nurses work incredibly hard, we study full time and many also work part time to try and have sufficient income to support ourselves throughout the cost of living crises, which is proving to be extremely difficult for many.

We as student nurses work for free on placement, working full time hours for up to 8-10 weeks at a time, three times within an academic year for 3 years. We feel student nurses deserve and need more support for our hard work. At a grand total student nurses are expected to work 2300 hours throughout a 3 year course. Student nurses work tirelessly academically and practically.
