Require publishers to produce more SEND-accessible resources

Closed 433 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government should require publishers to publish more special educational needs and disability (SEND) friendly resources and books. Public libraries will then be able to stock more of these.
The current provision of SEND-friendly resources in public libraries is very limited. More than 1 in 6 pupils in England have a form of SEND, but we believe this statistic is not reflected in current library provision. We are calling on the Government to require publishers to commit to publishing more SEND accessible (Large print, braille, dyslexia friendly etc) books and resources to meet the highlighted need.
