Compensate those affected by preparations for HS2 from Birmingham Manchester

What the petition asks
Many have been forced to sell or close their homes, businesses, farms and land to make way for the planned HS2. These people should be assessed and compensated for the hardship, trauma and financial difficulty caused by the project, now that it has been cancelled.
The lives affected by HS2 have been countless and now that it has been cancelled, many people are left heartbroken by what they have had to give up. Some have had to move away from or uproot family, some have been unable to afford a new life with the money paid, this list is far from exhaustive. The losses may never be fully recovered, but compensation may go some way to repairing the damage caused and the unnecessary stress.
