Regulate private landlords in the UK
Rejected
9 signatures
What the petition asks
Create a governing body (or merge with the regulator of social housing providers) to oversee private landlords and create standards they must adhere to.
Prior to the cost of living crisis, private rents were already increasing. Today private rents have now soared to record highs and this affects millions of tenants every day. We need a regulator to cap rents, ensure newly created minimum standards are met and provide a body or ombudsman for tenants to turn to in times of need.
