Change implementation of new road laws that treat motorists fairly.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Protect motorists from revenue based implementation of Sadiq Khan’s new road laws in London.

Greener and Safer roads do not have to mean revenue traps for the people that drive on them. We have demands that do not make any new law less safe or green, but support essential travel for business.
Safer roads, not revenue traps! Same policies different implementation.

Aggresive parking enforcement:
- Ensure there are no commision or target based contracts.
- Commerical permits for workers
- Maximum parking fine for all boroughs.

20MPH Zones:
- Ensure local support for them on high streets and main roads.
- 20-25 MPH, no driving points (fines + courses) / 25MPH + points.

Local and school closures:
- Red/green light system/ barrier system
- Blanket closure times

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can’t accept petitions that request action at a local level.

We could accept a petition calling for restrictions to the powers of traffic authorities regarding local roads, and changes to penalties for certain road traffic offences, if that's what you want to happen.
