Create a national register and welfare checks for home educated children

What the petition asks

We want the Government to introduce a national register for children who are educated from home, and regular welfare checks where children are asked without the presence of their parents about their views and if they are satisfied with their home education.

There have been some cases where children being educated from home have been abused or neglected. Home education is not currently regulated by local authorities and we are concerned that laws could be used by parents who wish to conceal abuse and neglect as it currently stands.
