Mandatory lessons for secondary school children about domestic violence

What the petition asks

1 in 3 women will be the victims of domestic violence in their lifetime. A report today from the charity group Women's Aid has also said that one third of children who have been taught sex education, said they did not learn about domestic abuse and abusive behaviours.

Knowledge is key in preventing domestic violence, without which the circle of abuse is continued. If the government included lessons that teach children the signs and patterns of behaviour when it comes to domestic violence, it can help address the problem. The government needs to bring initiatives into schools such as the 'Freedom Programme' that will help teach this to children

We could accept a petition calling for additional content on domestic violence to be added to the curriculum, but it would need to be clear what content you would like to be added.
