What the petition asks
Review the proposed disposal of Green Belt land by Bucks County Council to check the legality of this and the proposed development of a Motorway Service Station
Government policy on protection of the Green Belt is set out in chapter 13 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). The NPPF states that Local Authorities should consider the reduction of the Green Belt only in exceptional circumstances. The land was acquired using public money before the war to provide the wider community long term, accessible countryside. The negative impact of building a MSS on this land will be doubled with the loss of over 1,500 trees, removal ‘farming stock’
Why it was rejected
It was about a matter for a local council or devolved government, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We can’t accept petitions that request action at a local level.
