End the 'care cliff'

What the petition asks
End the 'care cliff' so that care leavers continue to receive support after the age 18.
Too many young people are expected to leave care before they feel ready, falling at a time in their life when they need stability the most. Placements for young people are abruptly stopped on their 18th birthday, and they are expected to become ‘independent’ overnight.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about arrangements for people leaving care at the age of 18, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
