What the petition asks
We want the government to stop the archaic and unnecessary implementation of changing the clocks in the spring and autumn- Daylight Savings time
Daylight Saving Time (DST) was first implemented in the UK in 1916 during World War I and was driven by the need to conserve energy and increase productivity during the war effort. After the war ended, the UK abandoned DST but reintroduced it during World War II in 1940.
Not only is it unnecessary nowadays it deeply disrupts infant & adult sleep patterns, negatively impacting health including rises in heart attacks & maternal well-being. There is also a linked rise in car accidents.
