Seek to develop an international recovery programme for Gaza

Closed 135 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the Government to work with other nations to enact an initiative to reconstruct Gaza. A major aim of the Marshall Plan was to stop the spread of Communism in Europe. A key aim of this initiative will be to halt the spread of Islamist terrorism.
We believe the most important factor in preventing a resurgence of terrorism will be restoring the economy, but that Israel cannot be expected to bear this cost. The Islamist terrorism that struck Israel on 7 October is something which we believe threatens all Western nations. It is in the interest of them all to contribute to a package for Gaza.

The Marshall Plan post-WWII transferred some $13 billion from the USA to Europe for reconstruction. The money played a major role in West Europe’s rapid post-war growth.
