What the petition asks
Official statistics show that PCOS affects 1 in 10 women WORLDWIDE. Causing life changing problems for women including fertility obesity diabetes & much more. Women are not getting the help they need in most cases dismissed by doctors, told to lose weight. The govt must act to give actionable help.
Women are suffering with this condition that can absolutely be helped. Doctors very rarely know anything at all about PCOS. There is a large body of scientific research out there which has outcomes to help these women reverse this condition to live a normal life yet these studies are being ignored. This needs to change! The govt need to put in place more help for women with PCOS. This in turn will reduce the NHS bill by millions if not billions. Women need to be believed & not dismissed.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about support for women with polycystic ovaries (PCOS), but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Patient care, including for women with polycystic ovaries (PCOS), is a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to increase funding for research into PCOS, or to take action to increase awareness of PCOS, if that's something you'd like to happen.
